Jennifer Marsicano was my birth doula during the birth of my son in late November 2013. Her guidance and constant care made a world of a difference for me during pregnancy, labor and post pregnancy. She is very knowledgable and extremely helpful. It was my first experience with a birth doula and I could clearly see a difference. Labor was shorter and easier. I was more relaxed and prepared. Knowing that she will be present since my mom was taking care of my other child made a big difference. She gave tips before labor and then during labor. Also helped a lot with breathing exercises.
After birth she stayed and guided with lactation and other post baby routine. During the first couple of months, Jennifer helped me immensely with learning to nurse & latching and other issues related to nursing and lactation. She was always available and ready to help. She provided me with excellent reading material (I still have one of her books) and it was very helpful during times i was having problems nursing. Jennifer was my birth doula for my first labor and delivery. I respect how
Jennifer is someone who is committed to her work and loves what she does--and
that is an essential part of why she can patiently answer the phone at 2 am in
the morning (or a more normal hour of the day). She has assured me that she
would be available for me when I needed her, and I have found that to be true.
At the hospital, my husband and I were thankful to have her present. Several
times, I had to double check with her about a situation, and she remained
positive and calm throughout the whole delivery.
